So I'm a little late with this Five, sue me

When was the last time you...

1. ...went to the doctor? 24 days ago. While I was fixing myself some lunch I slipped while cutting the end of a beefstick and landed with the knife in my finger. I cut the tip deep enough that it required 3 stitches. Yeah, I know, 3 doesn't sound like much, but when you think about the size of you fingertip it's actually a lot.

2. ...went to the dentist? I think it's been about a year. I need to go get a cleaning again, but I had to pay off my bill first, which now it is, so I'll be going soon.

3. ...filled your gas tank? Saturday?

4. ...got enough sleep? I never get enough sleep. I say that because I'm always tired no matter how much sleep I get.

5. ...backed up your computer? I don't have a computer of my own so I don't take care of that sort of thing. I think the company I work for, whose computer I use, backs it up everyday. At least that is what I have been told.

Online Dating Tips

In the interest of boredom at work and lack of dates in real life, I added myself to a couple of online dating sites. I've talked of this in the past, if anyone remembers, and do it mostly for entertainment. In my experience, I've come up with a few tips for online dating.

1. If you are going to post a photo, make sure it's a flattering one. If the lighting is bad or your eyes are half closed find another picture. Also, cropping someone out of a picture doesn't make them completely go away. I think the hand on your stomach with no attached arm blows your cover. Seriously, take another picture.

2. If your tag line reads 'smart and sensative' make sure you spell sensitive right, otherwise I may not believe that you are smart.

3. Don't add 'ster' or 'mister' to the end of your name. The Stevester or Chadmister makes me wonder if you are still stuck in your adolescent days thinking you are the number one stud.

4. If you have a mullett, cut it. Let's try to focus on hairstyles of the present, okay?

5. Again with the photo, I understand that you may really like your car. You probably worked hard to get that car and you probably love it more than anything else you own. Okay, but it's not necessary to post a picture of you and the car you love, especially if it's taken so far away that you can't even see what you look like anyway. I'd rather see whether or not I would be able to tolerate the look of you, not your car.

6. If you have a mullet, wear cut off jean shorts and a tank top and are standing next to your red Trans-Am, I'm just going to assume that you're stuck in the 80's listening to Def Leppard. I know this may be a personal taste thing, but the girls I know just point and laugh when I show them that picture.

I'm sure there are more that I can come up with, but for now we'll just leave it at that.

Okay, so I'm rambling

You know how when something good happens to someone close to you that you should be happy for them, but you really can't because everything in your life completely sucks. Nothing seems to be going right for you, yet everything seems to fall perfectly in place for them. So then you feel that twinge of jealousy and begin to start feeling a bit of hate for them. They don't deserve your hate because it's really not their fault and it just becomes a battle with yourself. You try to distance yourself from them until you can put things back in perspective and realize they are not to blame for your imperfections. Then they begin to feel neglected, but you can't explain because they wouldn't really understand why you would feel that way. So you keep on going, pretending nothing is wrong and just let it build up inside instead.

I was discussing fate today with a girl at work. Do we all have one predetermined fate, that no matter what choices we make it ends with one conclusion. Or are their different fates out there waiting for us to make a choice. Then with a combination of different choices do we wind up with a different fate than the one we would have, had one choice been different. If there is only one fate, what is the point of having a choice in life if you can't make a difference. If we knew what that fate was would we give up on life and coast through in a zombie like daze?

Okay, so you don't believe in fate, then what? Does life become meaningless or have more purpose. Without a predetermined destiny, I think I would be more motivated to achieve a better outcome. Possibly. I guess I'm just looking for some direction. I need a change of scenery. Hopefully, I'll be able to work things out that I can move this summer.
